Hey,

I'm trying to program the MiniWireless with a FTDI USB to serial converter (FT232RL). Connecting the serial monitor works fine, but I can't get the programming to work. I've selected 'Arduino Pro or Pro Mini (5V, 16 MHz) w/ ATmega328' in the Arduino IDE. The problem is with the auto reset after programming. I've connected the DTR pin on the FT232RL to the reset pin on the MiniWireless with a 0.1uF capacitor in between. This should work, but this 'hangs' the MiniWireless (keeps resetting). Any ideas? Thanks!

Regards,
Jeroen.

Hi Jeroen,

I'm using an FT232R and I don't have any problems programming MiniWireless.

Wiring: No components where added. just the wires
FT323R -- MiniWireless
VCC VCC Take care with the model you are programming, some models (CW?) only handle 3.3v on VCC
NC NC
GND GND
TX RX
RX TX
DTR DTR

Let me know if this helps you.

Regards,
William

I use these mostly, due to their convenient small size, but have used other FTDI boards with no issues.

Thank you all, it's working now. The wiring is quite simple, just as w1ll14m mentiod. I forgot to install the VCP FTDI drivers on Mac OS X. Programming worked out of the box on Linux.
