No, they will have a power supply to them.

Yes was going to interconnect the rPi to the wireless thru the serial port.

Was thinking of just setting up each mini-wireless as a different node.
Then stepping thru the nodes on the rPi requesting like a data packet full of the various
sensor reading attached to the mini-wireless's. So for the rPi's I just need a basic rx/tx device.

Good Morning-
I'm looking at building a wireless sensor array of up to like 12 sensors for my chicken houses.
It seems like 433mhz is the way to go as far as frequency goes for distance.
The sensors will be placed thru out a 50x500 building.
I'm looking at the RFM69HW-433 Mini-Wireless for them.
For like the Base station I'm going to use a Raspberry Pi to collect the data and display it.
I was just wondering if for the base station if like a RFM96W-433S2 be used for the higher transmitter and receiving capabilities ??
